PROBLEMS OF GEOCHEMICAL ECOLOGY UNDER CONDITIONS OF BIOSPHERE TECHNOGENESIS
15-20
September 2025

Dear friends and colleagues!

National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University announces the XIV International Biogeochemical School-Conference “Problems of geochemical ecology under conditions of biosphere technogenesis” (September 15-20, 2025), dedicated to the memory of famous biogeochemists of Russia:

Professor Mikhail A. MALGIN (95 years since birth), Professor Mikhail S. PANIN (85 years since birth), Professor Galina V. MOTUZOVA (85 years since birth) and Professor Leonid P. RIKHVANOV (80 years since birth).

Modern problems and methods of biogeochemical study of biosphere taxa, assessment of their anthropogenic evolution, GIS and IoT, microelementosis and technologies of their correction, the role of trace elements in the pathology of viral and bacterial diseases, modern technologies of microfertilizers, soil remediation technologies, prospecting and extraction of minerals and others, discussed in the framework of the event are relevant in many areas of science and production. Within the framework of the traditional BGH School-Conference, these problems are discussed in the connection between the scientific community, industrial sector and youth. The format of this School-Conference allows for cooperation between scientists and young specialists at the national and international level.

The main goal of the School is to present and discuss new ideas, methods and results of research to form actual scientific directions and state programs on application of biogeochemistry achievements in nature protection, national economy, medicine and education.

  • Drawing the attention of the Russian and international scientific community to the scientific results and practical developments of universities and other scientific organizations in the field of biogeochemistry, geology, climatology, veterinary science and medicine;
  • Providing scientific development of students and young scientists of Russia, near and far abroad, expansion and strengthening of scientific and creative contacts of young people between scientific teams of universities, academic and branch institutes;
  • Creation of a favorable communicative environment at the event for the implementation and development of interaction between modern scientific directions implemented in biogeochemical research and the production sector;
  • Organization of plenary lectures on the main directions of the conference to create conditions for professional development of students and young scientists;
  •  Presentation of the main achievements in biogeochemical research in different fields of science: geology, climatology, medicine and veterinary medicine, radioecology, etc.; opportunity for public scientific presentations of students and young scientists, their participation in discussions, publication of the best reports;
  • Attracting talented young people to TPU's graduate and postgraduate programs;
  • Development of interactions between scientific schools and the production sector.

Biogeochemical School - Conference aims to bring together talented students, young scientists, experienced researchers, industry representatives, and become a large-scale platform for experience exchange and networking.

On the platform of the Biogeochemical School - Conference it is planned to discuss the issues of biosphere evolution in the conditions of anthropogenic transformation of the environment; actual aspects of interaction between modern data on accumulation, migration, transformation of chemical elements and their compounds in the environment and the impact of these processes on living organisms, including the human body; modern issues of accumulation of large volumes of information databases and the possibility of their use for the development of human and production technologies; issues of assessment and development of the biosphere in the conditions of anthropogenic transformation of the environment.

Every year the symposium is attended by 100 to 300 participants from Russia and abroad, including a large number of young people.

The geography of participants covers the leading universities of Russia from Moscow to Vladivostok, as well as brings together specialists from scientific centers and institutes.

Far abroad was represented by the following countries: China, India, Indonesia, African countries, Serbia, Transnistrian Moldavian Republic, Poland, USA, Bulgaria.

Near abroad (CIS countries) was represented by the following countries: the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Turkmenistan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Belarus.
